As we look forward to The Ohio Light Opera Season, we want you to know how much your loyal support means to us. Your attendance at our performances helps us to fulfill our mission of presenting a broad repertoire from the lyric theatre. We appreciate your continuing patronage and generosity.
The 2009 repertoire is varied and exiting, with our first Gershwin production - his longest-running musical, political spoof and Pulitzer Prize winner (Of Thee I Sing); another great traditional musical that celebrates a people’s tradition (Fiddler On The Roof); a Victor Hubert operetta programmed this season at OLO to celebrate the composer’s 150th birthday (Mlle. Modiste); new productions of works by the witty and always whimsical Offenbach (La Belle Helene) and by the master of the waltz and operetta’s Golden Age - Johann Strauss _A Night In Venice); and two G&S classics that pay tribute to the company’s beginnings (Ruddigore and H.M.S. Pinafore). OLO and the intimate Freedlander Theatre offer their audiences the best entertainment for the money.
Laughter and music are considered the best medicine for the human soul. I cannot think of a better way to escape the complexities of our daily routine then to travel to the community of Wooster, experience its campus and be transported through time by the tunes, music, dance and laughter found in stories and songs of The Ohio Light Opera’s lyric theatre tradition.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Freedlander Theatre this summer.
Best regards,
Steven A. Daigle
Artistic Director
